Our Privacy Promise

We don't track you individually. We don't sell your data. We never will.

Unlike many competitors who track you extensively for commercial gain, we've built CertSafari with privacy as a core principle. We don't ask for personal information to use the site, use invasive ad tracking, or sell data to third parties. The only personal information we store is what you choose to give us: an email address for exam reminders, which we delete once the last of those emails is sent, and the emails you send us, which we keep for 12 months.

What We Do Use

Server-side functional data storage: To power core app features across devices, we store your quiz activity and private study data on our servers. This includes quiz progress/history, whether answers were correct or incorrect, when you use the copy AI prompt action, and private notes you create. This data is associated with an anonymous User ID (UUID) that you can view and manage in your profile. You can sync this data across devices by using the same User ID, without needing an account or an email address.

✓Private notes are private to your account context and are only visible to you by default.
✓We use anonymous completion statistics to report quiz history and progress back to you, and to improve questions.

Exam experience reports: If you choose to submit an exam attempt report, we store your result, score, exam date, prep details, topic tags, what our preparation missed, and your free-text advice. What our preparation missed is never published; we only use it to improve the practice material. Only if you explicitly opt in do we also store and display your verified name, certification badge URL, and LinkedIn profile URL. Reports are reviewed before publishing.

✓Public display is opt-in. Your verified name and LinkedIn only appear after your certification badge is verified; otherwise your submission counts only toward anonymous aggregate statistics.
✓You stay in control: you can delete a report, or make it anonymous, at any time from your profile.
✓We use this data to improve questions and readiness estimates, and — in the future — to power exam-readiness predictions for each certificate.
✓Reading other people's exam experience reports is, and will remain, free.

Exam Reminder Email (Optional)

What we collect and why: If you ask us to check in after your exam, we store your email address, the certificate, and your exam date, time and time zone. We send one confirmation right away; two days before your exam, an email with your weak spots, or the parts of the exam you haven't practised enough yet, computed from your practice answers on CertSafari; and one email about two hours after your exam, asking what was on the exam and what our practice missed. If you haven't shared your experience three days later, we send one short reminder (on the Monday if that falls on a weekend), and that is the last email. Real exam experiences show us what our practice questions and lessons are missing, so the material gets closer to the real exam for the next candidate.

✓Your address is deleted as soon as the last email is sent: the reminder a few days after your exam, or the after-exam email when no reminder follows (for example because you already shared your experience). It is deleted 1 week after the exam date at the latest. It is never used for newsletters or marketing, and never shared or sold.
✓You can cancel at any time: use the “Cancel this reminder” link in the confirmation email or the email before your exam, the “Cancel the reminder” link in the email after your exam, or “Cancel reminder” on the certificate page. The last email has no cancel link, because nothing is left to cancel. Cancelling deletes your address straight away. If an email bounces, we delete the address too.
✓To stop abuse, we keep a one-way hash of the address (not the address itself) for 2 days to limit how many reminders one address can receive.
✓Emails are sent through Resend, which only processes your address to deliver them. If you reply to a reminder, your reply is handled like any other email to us; see “Emails to CertSafari” below.
✓With a reminder set and the email before your exam turned on, you can ask for an AI study prompt for your exam. Only when you ask, we send the content of questions you missed, the answers you chose and your practice statistics (never your email address) to our AI provider (DeepSeek) to write it. We store the generated prompt with your anonymous ID, so asking again doesn't send your answers again.

Emails to CertSafari

What we keep and why: When you email a certsafari.com address, such as hello@certsafari.com, or reply to one of our emails, we keep your email address, your name as your email program sends it, and your message, together with our replies. We use them to answer you and to improve our questions and lessons.

✓ImprovMX forwards your email to our Google Gmail mailbox. We also store a copy in the CertSafari database (Supabase, hosted in the EU), so we can keep track of which questions still need an answer.
✓We delete a conversation from both places 12 months after its last message.
✓We never use your address for newsletters or marketing, and never share or sell it.

Open-Answer Mode

Typed answers and AI grading: When you type answers in open-answer mode instead of picking an option, we store the answer you typed along with its AI-grading result. Answers you type may be used to improve CertSafari, and are sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) for grading, where they may also be used to improve the provider's models.

✓Your account stays anonymous — a random ID, no account email or name — so stored answers aren't linked to your personal identity.
✓We use this data to improve questions and grading quality, the same way we use other quiz activity.
✓Grading is performed by OpenAI. Typed answers (never your account details) are shared with OpenAI and may be used by them to improve their models. If you prefer not to share typed answers, simply use the regular multiple-choice mode.
